Mellotron Update

But ok.
This is the same problem I had using the mellotron on stage some 20 (!) years ago. I wasn't much into electronics at that time, although I studied it.
I never solved it at the time, just shorted some things to ground and then suddenly it worked. Very annoying though, a couple of minutes before the gig. Was it going to work or not?
Must be some static charge or whatever.
I believe there are some other Mellotron-guru's on this list. Gentlemen?
