Mellotron Update

Well people, I told you before about the Mellotron I happened to 
stumble across. I've got it running now, that is, the tapes and 
mechanics are fully operational. But there's no sound at all! I've 
checked the wiring etc. Any thoughts on what typical-Mellotronic 
electronic failure could cause this?
