       Ahoy,yo-
Since with this new job I seem to have more time
for homework than building circuits,I might be of
some help...(homework at work!)
I am only beginning to learn of TI's many spec-
ialized circuits through the years, but the only
"noise/sound synthesizer thingie" that I've ever
heard of from radio shack is SN76477(complex sound
generator).cat# 276-1765? The only other such ic
that I know of is SN76488.I hope I'm wrong because
I would love to learn of more noise chips!
A recent search yielded the archer data book,an
article from popular electronics(chirp,jangle,woosh,
boom!-Lou Garner).Thomas Henry has described some
neat applications in Polyphony'81 and his "build a
better music synthesizer"book.Tomg has a great sche-
matic on his site of John Blacet's percussive noise
source.
The search also turned up..my new stash of ic's!
I found a small heap of SN76477's for a decent price
but rather than SN76477N,these are SN76477NF..
supposedly the same functionally, but a more compact
pin configuration;fits neither my sockets or bread-
board.I will try to find sockets in person this week
end so I get ones that fit.
I hope that you find this of help!
Behold-the Protong! CJ
