WOW! How wrong can I get in one e-mail!
YOU DO want the HEX INVERTING BUFFER 4049.
AND YOU DO WANT the CMOS version of the chip. The TTL version will blow.
When I tried this a year ago, I used a TTL 7405, a 14 pin HEX Inverter,
thinking I could re-wire it. THAT was my problem!
I breadboarded this with the 4049 using a 5 volt supply and it made some
interesting sounds.
Where in the hell is the Unsend key on this computer?
