It's not the same thing. Unshielded "Banana" cables normally run at some
distance to each other, only crossing (touching) every now and then.
And even if they touch, there's a rather thick insulation between them
that keeps some minimum distance. That's very different from running several cables with minimum distance in parallel all along the cable.
OTOH a little crosstalk from voice A into voice B might not be a problem,
as all voices either have a similar signal content at a time, or the unused
ones are muted (by the VCA, without gate applied). The really bad things
like clock bleeding into audio, white noise bleeding into dark bass
sound, are not affected by this.
So I'd say someone has to try it !
If you do, think about current mode (100uA into 5kOhm or similar).
