Well, that is really your very humble opinion... And my VHO is that
writing assembler code is
one of my favorite activities. Nothing could be more fun (except perhaps
trying a new patch on an
analog...). I think it's a very good exercize for the mind, perhaps as
good as playing chess or
learning latin... Assembler code allows you to write incredibly
efficient, tight, fast and fat-free code.

Besides, when I have the choice between struggling with dozens of logic
gates and TTL/CMOS
chips and PCB design on one side, and emulating the same function with
assembler code on a
single $10 uC on the other side, I don't hesitate at all !
