Closer to a 2600 in terms of mod routings though, and with an
(analogue) sequencer emulation thrown in.

There is an app to compete with Generator...VAZ Modular which has a
design philosophy closer to the Nord Mod than Gen.

To go back to some posts about DSP, VazMod on a Celeron/450 can run  
somewhere in the region of 5-10 times as much as a Nord Micro...and a
stripped down box to run this can be had for under 500 uk pounds.
