I have not done it yet, but it should be fairly straight forward.
It is a standard part made by several companies in different qualities.

If you are interested, I have worked out a scheme using the M2CV8 kit which
can double the number of outputs. It requires a custom EPROM and you
cannot use the V/Hz option.
It basically involves building another set of 8 opamp/transistor output buffers.
The opamps are driven directly by 8 TTL outputs from the 8031 chip.
The result, 8CV outputs and 8 Gate outputs! :)
I have not actually done this mod yet as I have no PCB creation tools yet,
but the design is sound and I have no problem rewriting the firmware
and releasing it free to everyone.
