basic familiarity, good grounding

      Helio!
I have temporarily delayed breadboarding until
I make a decent +/- 15v regulated supply.Wall warts
don't cut it for this.A rack and a 5v supply will be
good to have.I've never enclosed a ciruit or supp-
lied a reliable voltage. Some kind of two-pin regu-
lator seemed good(LMxxx?),though I will hold out on
the 40$ or so for a new center tapped transformer and try to find one surplus, perhaps @MIT's flea mkt/
swap meet 5/16.
Not an exciting module in a direct sense, but worth doing.I think I'll include fuses, but I am not
sure of their values;how much amperage.Suggestions?
I have acquired some SN76477 ics this week(rock'
n good news). The form factor baffles me-2 of them
are 28 pins with the pin spacing that I am relative-
ly familiar with (SN76477 singapore 7927A),but the
rest are more compact and fit neither my sockets nor
 breadboard(SN76477 singapore 7936A).If someone out
there knows what proportion those could be would save me some mail-order trial and error! Thanks.I am
psyched,but patient.
I recently purchased a C64 for 4$(I'll try to go
back for the disk drive, also 4$)The next day I found some books on programming 6502-at the local
landfill!(those same techniques supposedly work at
home,too.)Now I just need to find a compiler..Any-
body have a pinout of the SID?(or registers,even..)
I may have found a source of SIDs,I'll need to fig-
ure the exchange rate and chip data.
Do y'all find any analog computers out there? I
would guess them specialized enough to be very cheap
used, very expensive new..There must be some float-
ing around unused(sad).I read in Computer Music Jour
nal a few issues ago an article by someone who had
patched a Comdyna(G6?) to a Buchla to realize some
differentially intensive patches.(I count on my po-
tential modular to teach ME math!)Lets just say that
it would be a while before I would be able to build
something like that..(has anyone applied supercon-
ductivity to analog computer architecture yet?)
Back to basics time for CJ!
Babalon rocker gets a new gear.Heffed up on dreak'00
  In closing- CJ
