When I was about 13 lived in a rented house with my parents, while we had
our
new house built. Underneath was a sort of dodgy bassment. It just had a few
tins
of paint, the control box for the watering system, a shelf with some spare
tiles
for the bathroom, and 5 or 6 large boxes which the landlord said "i'll get
them
out of the way soon enough, is it ok if i leave them here a while though?"
Cool, we didn't have a problem with that. After about 2 weeks I just
couldn't
resist going to have a look. And then to my amazement ELECTRONICS!!!!!!
Lots of the stuff. Everything from XLR connecters, resistors, switches,
transformers, amplifier chips, telecommunications junk. It was a tinkerers
dream. I told my Dad about it, and he was initially pissed off with what I
had
done, but we soon decided to help ourselves :) (he couldn't resist either)
So we took each box into the shed, and sorted out what we wanted. We took
about 20% of what was there.
After we moved out, I caught up with the neighbour about 2 weeks later, and
he
the told me that those boxes were left out for the garbage!!!!!!
GRrrrrrrrrr......
We should have just asked the landlord straight upfront, instead of trying
to just
sneak some of it away...
blah...
