Yeah, no shit.... you must be crazy! The proper "musician" thing to do it to
TURN IT UP SO LOUD that you can't hear a little hum... ;-) Harry

PS any transformer I can hear is not a "normal" transformer. That is the one
advantage of a wall wart... you con locate them in the next room...
I went so far as to strip the power supply out of my (then) 286 computer. and
put it in a foam lined box (about 4 cu foot, so there was no heat biuld up.
For sequencing and midi-recording I use a special 286 single board with a
1.44 meg removable media drive (floppy) and a linear supply. The display is
electroluminescent (EL) so there is no magnetic interference with the studio
monitors, and no discernable "hash" noise (max voltage is only 150VAC - SMPS)
I like to tell people I'm still running a 286. :-) Harry

No problem for me to have a toroidal xformer for every module,
if these are "multi-modules".
You know, I'm that crazy guy who throws out "normal" transformers
of used gear I'm buying, and replace them with toroids.
Could't stand the (mechanical) hum of my Prophet 5 or CLS 222,
for example.

JH.
