A customer had something fall on his rack and smash the data pot on his Proteus,
which would be a very serious problem in Australia, but it turns out the
remains matched a picture of a mech encoder in the Farnell catalog.
A friend who built his own DSP synth uses a mech encoder for the patch and data
selection without problems.
