What about those cables that are used for the serial ports of Apple computers? They have 8 conductors + shield, MINI-DIN plugs and are available everywhere. The jacks are PCB-mount. But it's a pain to solder a cable to a plug. Are those cheap Hifi-DIN cables available outside Europe? IMHO 9pin D-Sub is the best choice. Ingo
