Hi, I just subscribed to the list a while ago.
I've been lurking up until now, but I thought I would introduce myself and let you know what I'm up to.

My name is Dan Gendreau, and I am a windows programmer from upstate NY.
In my spare time I tinker with electronic music.

I recently got into analogs (since I couldnt aford to until recently).
My synth rig consists of:
An old Yamaha DX-7 (mostly as a controller).
A Roland SH-101 (soon to be heavily modded :)
And most recently a bouncing baby TB-303 :)

I also work with DJ stuff as well (Numark CD player, 1200s soon).

My projects:
1 I am currently working with Philip Pilgrim on his SH-101 mod kit called the NovaMod:
http://robotnik.com/the_lab/synths/sh-101/NovaMod/NovaMod.html
For my part, I am rewriting the Paia Midi->CV8 firmware to provide more customized
signals for the SH-101. The mono mode controls will be handled much better than
the standard CV8 provides (note stacking etc.)

2 After the NovaMid project is complete, I would like to design a kit for building custom
midi user interfaces. It will support Pots(32), Switches(64+), LEDs(32+), CV/Gate outputs,
and character LCDs. I plan to base it around a uC with an ADC, DAC and the I2C bus.
Probably the 8051 series since it seems least expensive.
Using this kit you should be able to build almost any custom midi device you can think of.

3 I have been thinking about a custom midi tempo controller with DJ style controls.
By this, I mean a +/- 10% trim slider on the tempo and +/- buttons that "push" the tempo slowly
up or down similar to a turntable. This would make integrating MIDI gear into a DJ
rig MUCH simpler. You could beat match the sequencer like a record.

4 From there I would like to build toward my ultimate goal this year:
To build a box similar to ReBirth: http://www.propellerheads.se

I will use #2 above to build the user interface on 2U/4U 19" rack panels.
I plan to use the Tony Allgoods TB3030 kit for the 2 TBs.
I have no idea where the drum machine portion will come from.
	Maybe I will just pick up a TR-707. They're still cheap. :)
Efx should be no problem.

Comments, Suggestions, Collaborations Welcome.
-Dan Gendreau.
