Playstation control

I know this SOUNDS off topic, but it's not.

I'm trying to hack a box that'll read 4 sony playstation controllers, and
generate a gang of CV outs.  I've scoped out the various signals, and will
plow through the thing if I have to, but does anyone have any specs on
these things?  Pin-outs, timing charts, etc.  That might help.  Also, if
anyone else is interested, I'd be happy to share notes and all.

The controllers each have 13 discrete switches (momentary) and 2
two-dimensional, eight-bit joysticks.  I plan to use the buttons to change
the role of the joysticks, which I'll use for the CV, and also use buttons
for trigger initiation.
