power supply to use a shottky diode (about .3v drop instead of .7).The
processor runs on 5V, the memory on 4.3V this is stupid cheap-ass ignorant
engineering when they could have done it right for an extra 20 cents (two more
diodes...) This made an improvment, but not a total cure. Problem seems to be
in the power-up reset circuit design, a line transient will scramble the
processor (and maybe corrupt memory too). I could fax you schems if you give
me your number. 
P.S. I heard a rumour that there was some fix for this...
