Isn't the Oberheim Matrix 6 using the CEM 3394?
I have a M6R and it pops if you LFO-modulate the pulsewidth. Every time you play a new note it pops, probably because the LFOs are reset when a new voice is played. Sometimes it gets better if you set it to voice assignment Rotate instead of Reassign. I assumed this popping was because the DC-level shifted abruptly.
