FM on PC via SB

Hullo,

Cryptic subject header, eh?

I recently installed my old SoundBlaster 16 into my dad's
PC (I got rid of my old PC), and I've been messing around
with playing .MID files with the FM sound. And now I think
that the FM MIDI sound is quite interesting. Way cooler
than the boring WaveTable stuff popular these days, methinks.

Here's my question:
Is there any software available for editing FM sounds and
play'em through the SB? This culd be a nice way for me to
get into FM synthesis, right? (I'm totally blank on FM)

Another:
When playing MIDI files, I cannot get a drum sound. I only
get someone playing drums with an organ sound, for example.
How can I rectify this?

Different topic - my Nebulus synth is going well. I had the
VCO and the VCF hooked up and they both worked fine! And
I've put together the case - it's gigantic! (meaning BIG)
Next up for testing is the JH VC HADSR EG (thanks to Jorgen
Bergfors for really neat PCB).

Thanks,
Hallgeir
