sh101 wierd fault

I have just been given a sh101 to fix that is displaying a bizare 
problem. It seems to lock up at power on, with the the key transpose 
light staying lit or the power and lfo leds flashing after each other.  
Trying to play it has the effect of illuminating more leds, and it wont 
work from cv gate in. Has anyone ever heard of anything similar? Its 
like this synth is possesed!!
