according to one of the chaps who designed the circuit.. 74HCU is required,
to prevent oscillation on the output pins (which happens w/an ordinary 74HC).
(and HCU versions are cheap enough last time i checked)
the oscillation prevention should be stated somewhere in the link i
previously stated.. or elsewhere on the web on the same topic (sorry).
instructions on winding yer own pulse xformer are also here (plus
