I cannot say for certain, but I would be VERY surprised if this was true. 
The late Ms. Rockmore was very stern in her support of the Theremin as a
serious classical instrument and despised its use for "sound effects." 
However, I think it may true that the movie does indeed contain Theremin
tracks.  Who played them would be the question.
