All this talk of great synth artists got me to dig out some of my
old john carpenter soundtrack stuff. If your a fan of synth film music this
is the guy to go to. His Film sound work (starting in 1974 with dark star)
is still truly amazing (listening to it right now). There of course is some
cheese (especially in the mid 80's. (lotsa DX-7 sounds). But his influence
can be heard up to today (darren verhagens' witch hunter/witch hammer hunder
the moniker shinjuku theif has all sorts of hommages to him) .. great stuff
if you can find it
