Quite the group to mention in regard to the first sentence.
I remember each time I'd get a new CD from Autechre, i would
be really impressed by the variety of new sounds (not the
same old samples, new stuff).

In the same vein, I'd say: u-Ziq and Nonplace Urban Feel.
In a bit more abstract, Panasonic (which btw, are one of the
few bands that use DIY synths and gear in shows... well
that I've seen).

Oh, and I like Revolutions, so there...
