   Well that's where I got mine from.  :(  Web site says they have stock 
on both items (288 MAT02FH's [Newark part number 05F8297] and 394 
MAT04FP's [Newark part number 05F8301]) and in general it's pretty 
close.
   Maybe you just got a sales rep that _really_ wanted to sell you the 
more expensive chip?  I used to have a real good contact at Newark, but 
the gal since left for a greener paved job.  :(
   Also give them the catalog page number for the parts (sometimes they 
really have to look it up if they don't believe it exists).  I show both 
the MAT02/04 listed on page 747 of catalog 116 or page 899 on catalog 115.
