I'm planning on ordering a few Panasonic encoders from Digikey.
They offer 15 pulses per revolution and cost $2.97 each.
Does anyone have any experience with these? The "cheapest"
Bournes encoders have only 6 pulses per revolution.
I know there are many models, but these are less than $3.00.

While I'm "chattering," has anyone ever thought of building a
non-linear voltage converter module. A simple version would
act alot like a log / linear / exponential converter.
A complicated version would act like y=x^2 or some other
wierdness (a higher order function). I know that an EPROM
would do this, or a microprocessor computing Y for a given
X voltage. Am I just crazy? :)
