Hey guys,
Guess who owes me money? I know a lot of us are constantly talking about how to
come up with cash for our equipment. I just found out how I'm going to get
almost $700 in gear money. Apparently the US Congress recently passed a bill
entitling veterans to a dividend on the GI insurance they had while in the
service. Both current and former military personnel are entitled to the
dividend. BUT, the government will not send it to you unless you ask for it.
The general dividend schedule is as follows:
2 years of service: $261.00
3 years of service: $391.00
4 years of service: $528.00
To apply for the dividend, we need to write to the Veterans Center, P.O. Box
8079, Philadelphia, PA 19101. Include your name, Social Security number,
address, branch of service, date of birth and dates of military service. A copy
of your DD Form 214 would help too.
Anyway, I just thought that some of you would like to know how to get a hold of
this cash for new gear.
Take care,
Robert
