AD 7545 12 bit dac

Would it be possible to make a small piggyback adapter and use the ADC 1220 12 bit DAC with the Paia kit? You would use the 8 most significant bits then. It seems really simple. It doesn't even have any multiplexed bits. All bits are on separate pins and the only other connections are for supply, voltage reference and output. It seems it has a current output. It is an 18 pin package. Cost is around $14 apiece. Acceptable if you only need one.
Another alternative might be the AD 7541. Same pinout and about the same price.
