If you want to continuously control anything more than a pitch bend over a
small range, Paul is right. For base ("keyboard") pitch control, which is
digital, 7 bits is all you need, assuming you have _exponential_ DAC's--but
they're not.

It's called implemetation, Jorgen. You never know what someone might need
that you didn't anticipate, and software _is_ cheap. On the other hand, I
wouldn't go so far as to call the PAiA Midi2cv8 a toy. It's just that this
isn't as trivial a problem as it might seem.

I'd like to see PAiA bring out an improved MIDI/CV, a Fatman with three
osciallators, PWM, sync, plus all the LFO's, enveloping and other mod's
everyone's been doing... you getting all this John? It'll be ready by Xmas,
right?
