The PAIA I dont know. The Zoom I tested and didn't like it. A very fine  
digital multi efx vocoder is in the Roland/Boss SE-50 (out of production).  
Also ok is the Digitech Talker.

On stage I would not use an analogue/modular vocoder (I own a modified  
Doepfer and before I worked with an old Roland SVC. Both I would not take to  
stage today if I could use digital gear).
