Vocoders

Dear All,
	
	Hopefully this is a suitable 'DIY' topic.	

	I want a vocoder for live and regording purposes. 
	Am considering either the PAIA vocoder kit or possibly
	an 'budget' effects unit with a 'vocoder' program (eg. Zoom 1204)

	Given that the PAIA unit is analogue and the effects unit is
	probably not, there are clearly pros and cons (ie being able
	to mod the PAIA unit but it having 'only' the vocoder function)

	Have any of you people any experience with the PAIA unit
	and/or digital effects units with 'vocoder' programs ?

	Opinions please
