I have built a VCLFO. It is based on the ASM-1 VCO, with some changed component values.
It goes from 40 seconds cycle to 4 kHz. It has saw, pulse, triangle and sine waves. It also has quadrature (90 degree shifted) versions of all waveforms. It can be synced to note-on or any other gate signal. The triangles and sines are good up to around 200 Hz but definitely don't pop at low frequencies.
