Tolex is very expensive. I've gone to a car upholstery shop and purchased
tonneau cover material (for truck bed covers). It also has the advantage of
being 54" wide so it's easier to cover large items. It also comes in colors
although I've only used black and brown. The black is very close to Tolex.
I've even recovered 1/2 of a Rhodes piano and left the other 1/2 the original
Tolex. You have to look real close to see the difference. I think it goes for
about $15.00 per linear yard. Much less expensive, durable, and easy to
work with.
