Yes, but mine is a little different, I've used the original expo-convertor
with an extra opamp. Instead of that linear current source.
(Tom you don't use tracking filters?) Used a 1/2 TL084 for the buffers and
two green LEDs instead of the six diodes. (I was too lazy! And at low
frequencies and high resonance settings they light up in an random
fashion.) Also I raised the gain of the resonance-opamp.
Other changes were the use of 1nF caps instead of 2.2nF
So my version is halfway between toms older vcf8 and the KLM307.gif.
On the subject of the weedy behaviour: Did you try to reduce the input
amplitude? Above 2.1Vpp the diodes start clipping, producing an
out-of-control kind of oscillation at higer resonance. I nearly always use
an attenuator when I use it.
