Nah. It will charge to 500mAh in the same amount of time that the old one
did.. So it shouldnt be a problem..
(I run massive amounts of testing on batteries of various types, so I know
enough to be dangerous!)
Now, if you want it to last for 940mAh, well sure, it will take about twice
the time, which shouldnt be long in the first place..

Well, yeah, you have gas discharge from the Nimh when its charging.. But Im
not sure how critical it is with such a small cell...
I would say open the case, put the battery in, turn it on, and monitor the
temp on the battery.. If it starts getting hot, turn the machine off and
remove it..
Ill ask one of the battery engineers at work about the ramifications, cuz
now im curious too..
