I have the same intact interest.

When i was a student i find 2000 FF too expensive for a MS20 since
i don't know anything on playing keyboard and music, and now 4000 FF for
a no midi synth: i say NO.

i "surfed" on some web sites: some are very interesting but many are
designed
only for web surfing, you can't print the contents (or have to find a html
editor (and do a lot of editing), a site downloader (to be sure to have all
files)
and also an application who print CORRECTLY an html file).
most web sites are also unfinished or have unreachable parts.
My idea, since a CPU is needed for MIDI, is to build a simple hybrid synth,
with LM13700 for VCF and VCA and digital stuff for the rest.
