All,
I have a concept for a mixture of analog/digital sequencer...
It seems most people want something real time, but yet would like a CPU in
it so they can store these 'patterns' and maybe even sync to midi.
My idea (had this in mind for a long time) is to have 16 identical steps..
each haveing 2 7 segment displays, one for octave, one for note, and an LED
for #. two sets of buttons for up and down for each.
Another button for Gate, (long/short/off) and a 10seg Bargraph, again with
two buttons for up/down, this would by for velocity or whatever you plugged
into it.
This has several advantages..
1) you could in theory have several channels and just switch between
them..
2) You could chain patterns to form 'songs'
3) you could have either CV/Gate output or midi
4) It would retain both 'analog' real time control and digital
storage/intefaceing/midi.
What do you think? this is a project that has been on the back burner for
me for a while, due to my Midisynth and polysynth efforts.
TTFN
Paul
