Unfortunately, Kevin's episode is far from uncommon in this world. I've had my own bad episodes
recently with people taking my ideas and acting like scumbags (academia can suck). I would argue
that all DIYers should read Kevin's website, and keep it in mind when you are discussing new ideas
with people you don't necessarily trust - especially ideas that could result in profit for you or
others.
Having said that, I would think that a forum like Synth-DIY would be a safe place to discuss new
ideas. Not just because people on this list have consistently proven themselves to be trustworthy,
but because this is a public forum. If you make a posting on here, it could be argued that your
posting is documentation showing that a concept originated with you on a certain date. If this list
is archived on a public web site, it could be used as evidence in court. Of course, this is a
double-edged sword...
