This books has MANY typos and some circuits *flat out do not work ***!!

I would recommend reading R.A. Penfold's Electronic Synthesizer 
Construction, which can be ordered at for example www.proxis.be.

You can also download the entire book for free at:

I can't say that the synth is of superb quality, (it's monophonic, 
analogue, no midi,...) but the book shure helps in understanding 
synths, and in constructing them.
