Soft Sync Vs. Hard Sync/FENIX?

What about the FENIX? It has not only got soft and hard sync but
anything in between.
But how does it work, some sort of crossfade between soft and hardsync?
BTW The funniest way to listen to a synced vco is to tune it below the
audio range and have pulse/saw or any other sharp edged wave selected on
the vco. Instand gallop sounds!
BTW2 Or what about sync and linear FM? I get some really weird
modulations when using them both (VCO2 synced to VCO1 and VCO2 FMmoding
VCO1). First thing which happens when you turn the FM amount up is that
the modulated VCO gets out of tune, turn it even higher on you'll have
something that sounds like something between noise and a washingmachine.
