Knobs and stuff

Er, buy a hacksaw. Seriously though, I have found that I like plastic
shafts (ooh,er!!) because they cut down to size much easier, like with a
pair of pliers. Also you could use a sub chassis that holds the pots
away from the panel, this can be very attractive since the pot nuts
cannot be seen at all. The bummer with this is that jack sockets and
toggle swicthes still have to be mounted on the front directly, which
can hamper construction. One of our list members did some fantastic work
on brass sub panels, but I can't remember who.
