A news article about using physical modeling for sound for games and
animation ( complete with URL )

Their regular "Ideas for Design" column has an article by W. Stephen
Woodward ( the guy's a genius - check out the back issues for his other work
) about Active Cancellation of a Pot's Wiper Resistance and he gives a nice
digitally controlled 100Hz to 10KHz bandpass filter as an example.  There is
also a good one on Better Linearity for Frequency to Voltage Converters

The kicker is Bob Pease's column:  "What's All This Logarithmic Stuff
Anyhow" - a couple pages full of design of log ( or exponential )
converters, temperature compensation, clever ideas, etc...
