TO99 > dip8 converter sockets????

Hi Paul & List:

You can buy component headers from Digi-Key that fit the DIP socket.
Then you solder your TO99 can to it, and plug it in.  Another trick is
to make a single side PCB and use .025 square post headers in the dip
pattern, and holes for the TO99. Put the post headers in from the
component side (with the plastic strip on the comp side) and carefully
solder the foil by hand. The  square post headers will fit in AMP style
dip sockets (but not in machined sockets) You can do this neater with
PTH. You can get individual header pins from Mill-Max also...  See also
