ODP: OB-8 power supply, and problems starting

Since you mentioned this, I'm worried...
when I first opened my JX8P I noticed the bridge is hotter than
I'd wanted it to be. The regulator's weren't much cooler either.
But then I thought "this thing is designed by experienced
Japanese designers, if it's hot it probably is intended to be so"

Has any of you encounered PS problems in JX8P?
Should I take care of it?
