I had an idea the other day of a noise-making device I'd like to construct,
but I havn't the foggiest idea how. I was wondering if someone would
possibly draw up a quick, rough schematic as to how to construct this device?
I would like the device to have a standard output that I could plug into an
amp or speakers or whatever, an on/off switch, three knobs, and two inputs.
The two inputs would take standard big plug-in things of noise (mono).
The first knob would control how long each sound was played before
switching to the other sound. Imagine, if you will, kind of like a strobe
light of sound that switched between the two inputs, with this knob
controlling how fast it switched back and forth, or how long each input was
played. Maybe a range from .2 to 2 seconds or something.
The second knob would control the ratio between the time each pitch was
played. I.e., if it was set to middle, they would both be played equally -
each pitch would be played for the same amount of time before switching
back to the other pitch. If it was turned clockwise all the way, the first
input would get twice as long as the second input. . . counter-clockwise
all the way the SECOND input would get twice as much time as the first input.
The third knob would control the volume of the output.
Another thing I would like to have, if possible, would be another on/off
type switch that controlled mono/stereo, and two more knobs that controlled
the stereo position of each of the two inputs, which you could pan L/R
with, for each of the seperate noises.
Thank you for your help! Let me know what isn't clear about this and I'll
elaborate more, as I'm sure something or other doesn't make sense. :)
