Off-topic (well, only a little)

Sorry for being a little off-topic, but I assumed you electrowizzes
would know the answer:

My trusty (and fast!) 1985 Audi Coupe GT sometimes suffers from
minor electrical problems. The connectors to one headlight and the
brakelights seem to be corroded a little. With the brakelights it's
quite annoying, since I can clean the contacts by scratching them a
little, but it will only last for some weeks or so. And I really would
like people to see I'm hitting the brakes when I drive around with my
synths in the trunk! (I told you it would be a little on-topic)

Now, some of these contacts are not made of copper but (I think)
iron or aluminium (does that conduct electricity by the way?). See,
in the rear there are these big plastic light elements that contain
large silver-colored traces. You have to snap the lamps into those
elements. These traces and their connectors are the ones that get
a little corroded. Does anyone of you know how to keep these
things permanently clean?

Oh, and why is it always me who get dirty contacts? I've had to
clean my SH101-keyboard several times too :(

Thanks!
