As to line voltages, I have a bit of experience here, being an HP test engineer.
The limits vary with product usage and go as low as 96 volts. For the stuff we
all get into, the test level would be 108 volts on the low side. There is also
dropout conditions, surge, lightning (fast transient), frequency shifts. And
even though suppliers of high-pressure electrons are not supposed to dip below
some magic level, during the summer here in semi-arid California when those
coolers all snap on you better believe the line drops!
