As far as I can tell, it is all hype. We engineers have been using copper wire
since the dawn of time, and never had to worry about the oxygen content. It
seems to me "Oxygen-Free" just means "No Oxidation". In other words, clean wire
and good connections. And oh by the way, the guys who design 24-bit A/D
converters for seismic measurements use good old fashioned copper wire.
