Scope buying advice

Wow, and I thought I was the only one with a rather ratty old scope!!! I've
got an old Heathkit valve scope. 20Mhz, almost no options, but it's still
rather useful. Not very good to get a precision measurement, or for looking
at transients, though. Still, I got it for free and it lasted me quite a few
years....
Unfortuantely, it needs to be recapped (starting to get 60Hz ripple on the
waveform, even when the positive scope lead is grounded). I'll probably
replace it instead of recapping it. I can get some modular Teks for $200 USD
down at a local surplus store (I forget the model #, but it's the same scope
we had for our EE lab here at the state college.
