Get some wire, cut it into loads of 10cm strips... make a square,
Solder a wire every 1cm at both ends of the outer grid, vertically... then 
do the same going horizontaly.. everywhere they cross, solder...

It teaches you how to do good joint quickly, if you're too long the 
surronding joints all melt...

and america the best? no, just different choices.. I dont think anywhere is 
the 'best'...
