Scope buying advice & sugg. or (dorkness in new levels)

I'm also planning to buy an oscilloscope, but I think I'll go for a parallel
port PC oscilloscope to save some money. Anyone had some experience with
these kind of osc ? Are they any good ? Right now I'm thinking about the
Protek 2100, Does someone ever try it ? How is the software (can it
calculate frequency) ?

I'm not sure, but I think it's a 50Mhz osc, would it be enough for most job
? (I'm not planning to do any video rightnow).

Any other info or suggestion is more than welcome
Thanks,
Thomas
